Life Changes
Right now I am thinking about all the changes going on in my life as I am sure many people in this class are. This weekend my parents are moving away from LA and I have been spending time at home packing up my things. Although I didn’t grow up in LA or in that house, it is where we spent our time during the COVID lockdown and where I would come to relax during college. When I was packing I found so many photos that reminded me of the amazing times and memories I have made over the last four years. It is always strange to move because it feels like starting a new chapter, but I am excited to see where the next year takes me.
It feels scary to be entering the adult world, but I think that moving on from undergrad has not completely hit me yet since I am staying to get my Masters. I think one of the things I will miss the most is living with all my best friends and being able to see them whenever I want. Looking back on it, I definitely took that for granted during school. I know that keeping up with friends after school will be difficult, but I want to really work on checking in with people more moving forward. I will also miss the freedom I have in my day and in my schedule to make time for friends and other things I want to do.
I am excited for the future and I think that the next year is going to be filled with lots of exciting changes. I am looking forward to figuring out what I am going to do, and also seeing where my friends end up in their life and careers. I definitely want to make maintaining friendships a priority after graduating and I am happy to have made memories at USC I will hold dear to my heart forever.
Hi Alyssa! My parents also moved last year so I understand what you mean. I am at the start of my undergrad journey so it is interesting to hear about your experiences. I wish you the best of luck with your future plans!
ReplyDeleteHey Alyssa, even though Im only in my first year of college the fact that I'm leaving for good in a month makes it feel a little like your experience I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteHey Alyssa! This post is definitely very relatable for many seniors including myself. I have been thinking about post grad life a lot lately. It is definitely a bittersweet feeling!
ReplyDeleteHi Alyssa. In the upcoming months my parents are also going to move so I can somewhat relate. I really like the idea that home is not a place rather a feeling.
ReplyDeleteHey Alyssa, I am in the same position of coming to appreciate where I am right now. I am now jumping into the adult world with lots of ambitions. Good luck on your Masters!
