WWDI 3: Kitty Bungalow

Image
Have you ever been sitting by your television and all the sudden the song “In the Arms of an Angel” comes on, and you know exactly what images are on the screen. Malnourished, neglected, and abused animals hiding in piles of trash or in dark basements locked away. While these images are sickening to look at. It is the reality of the world we live in. Everyday animals are dumped by their owners or horribly abused and mistreated.  I have been very passionate about animals, especially cats, for my entire life, as I grew up with cats and always felt that I had a connection with them. I would beg my parents to get me cats when I was younger and chase after a stray whenever I got the opportunity. While I have not done as much as I would like to in the volunteering aspect, I found an organization that immediately sparked my interest.  Kitty Bungalow - Charm School for Wayward Cats is a cat shelter with many different offerings. Although I didn’t grow up in LA or in that house, it is where we spent our time during the COVID lockdown and where I would come to relax during college. When I was packing I found so many photos that reminded me of the amazing times and memories I have made over the last four years. It is always strange to move because it feels like starting a new chapter, but I am excited to see where the next year takes me.  It feels scary to be entering the adult world, but I think that moving on from undergrad has not completely hit me yet since I am staying to get my Masters. I think one of the things I will miss the most is living with all my best friends and being able to see them whenever I want. L...
